Vivatum Alba CAPD System™ ordered by two leading hospitals in South Africa
Vivatum PD AG is pleased to announce that two leading hospitals in South Africa have placed orders for the Vivatum Alba CAPD System™.
This milestone marks an important step in bringing connected, patient-centred peritoneal dialysis closer to patients in real-world clinical settings. The first patients are expected to receive their personal Alba therapy companion from August 2026 a connected therapy solution guided with precision down to 5 ml.
The Vivatum Alba CAPD System™ has been designed to support patients during home-based Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis by combining guided therapy steps, integrated vital-sign monitoring, infection-control prompts and secure data connectivity with the clinical care team.
For patients, Alba is more than a device. It is a personal therapy companion that helps guide each exchange, supports confidence at home and keeps important therapy information visible to healthcare professionals.
For nephrologists and clinical teams, Alba opens a new level of therapy visibility. Physicians gain the ability to remotely follow their CAPD patients, review relevant therapy data and monitor ultrafiltration and treatment progress with precision down to 5 ml. This connected approach may support earlier intervention, more informed clinical decision-making and a more structured follow-up of home-based dialysis therapy.
The orders from South Africa reflect the growing interest in innovative CAPD solutions that can help make home dialysis more connected, more visible and more patient-centred.
Vivatum is proud to support this next step together with its clinical partners in South Africa.
