It is estimated that 10 % of the global population is affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD), and millions die each year associated with a lack of access to affordable treatment. Worldwide, over 2.5 million people currently receive treatment with dialysis or a kidney transplant to stay alive, yet this number may only represent 10% of people who actually need treatment to live. An estimated of 80% of the health burden occurs in low or middle-income societies.
Vivatum PD is introducing a medical device & software that automates a number of steps required to perform an important home dialysis therapy option, Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD).
Vivatum PD aims to:
- Introduce automated CAPD to CKD patients worldwide
- Bring modern, affordable & safe dialysis to a patient’s home
- Decrease the cost burden on the Healthcare System & the patients (out-of-pocket spending)
